Flag Service
Time is of the essence when tracking FCC actions, yet it is extremely time consuming to manually search the FCC's CDBS database or Public Notice Release documents to find specific information. FLAG automates a search of FCC records, automatically delivering key information to subscribers.
Comprehensive Tracking of FCC Actions
FLAG automates a search of FCC records and ensures that subscribers are up-to-date on all recent FCC
activities by delivering key information and analysis directly to them.
With FLAG, a subscriber determines what they want to track. The
service then sends the an electronic report to the subscriber containing all FCC release items within 60 miles of the flagged station or geographic
site (city of license). The report also evaluates Release items outside of the 60 miles and warns
of any potential allocation conflicts.

FLAG automatically delivers information and analysis about:
- Conversions to digital
- Competitive in-market stations
- Allocation
conflicts
- City of license changes
- Items that could
pose a problem for facility and signal improvement
- AM, FM,
TV, LPTV/Translators, CATV, AUX, EBS/BRS
How FLAG Works
FLAG operates by reviewing all FCC Public Notice releases daily
and evaluating each of the following items:
- AM
- FM
- TV
- LPTV/Translator
- CATV
- BCST
- AUX
- EBS/BRS
- Wireless Cable
The service checks spacing criteria and educational proposals near
commercial operation and uses allocation criteria
in the analyses to determine potential conflicts.
FLAG isolates items of competitive and commercial interest and items
that could potentially interfere or present an
allocation problem with a particular broadcast facility. For items
outside 60 miles, FLAG evaluates FCC separation requirements and notifies
subscribers of any item of conflict.
Once FLAG has evaluated each item, the service
sends a comprehensive email report that warns
of any potential allocation conflicts. By reporting
all activities in one report, an entire market can be tracked as a consolidated
entity. Services or items of non-interest can be removed for a truly
concise report.
